PENNYRILE REGIONAL SENIOR GAMES
The Division of Parks and Recreation will be hosting the Pennyrile Regional Senior Games April 19-21, 2010. Over 300 “Seniors” from the nine county Pennyrile region attend each year.

National Dance Day
July 13, 2010, Hopkinsville, Kentucky – As part of his commitment to support dance education and physical fitness in the United States, executive producer and judge, Nigel Lythgoe, is launching National Dance Day on FOX Television’s "So You Think You Can Dance." National Dance Day will take place on July 31, 2010 and will include a variety of dance-themed activities, across the Country, for people of all ages. It will empower, challenge and inspire everyone to try various styles of dance ranging from hip-hop to ballroom to anything that moves. Above all, it will encourage everyone to DANCE as a means to stay fit and be healthy. CLICK HERE to learn more about National Dance Day. Hopkinsville has a vibrant dance community and will be participating in National Dance Day. On Saturday, July 31st, 2010, at 10:00a.m., in Little River Park, located in downtown Hopkinsville, local dance studios, dance instructors, and dance teams will demonstrate their skills and perform for the public. The public will be encouraged to participate. Dance studios and dance instructors will set up tents and tables throughout the park and will have information and representatives available to let the community know about opportunities available for them to participate in a variety of dance styles, dance exercise, and dance related activities. Hopkinsville Mayor J. Daniel Kemp will issue a proclamation, declaring July 31st, 2010 as Hopkinsville Dance Day. FOX producers of have asked communities to share their plans with them for possible mention during an episode of “So You Think You Can Dance”. We’re excited to share our plans and be a part of this day!
COSTUME PARADE
Come in costume for a parade around the mall and a morning of fun and prizes! Registration will begin at 9:30 AM.
VETERAN'S DAY HONOR PARADE
Veteran’s will be honored during a ceremony following the Parade at the Justice Center. Music, food and displays will fill the Square.
CHRISTMAS PARADE/CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
Enter your own float, or just come out for a "Holly Jolly" good time as you watch the Christmas Parade! Don't forget to join us for the Tree Lighting immediatly following!
